Almost in the same vein as the idolisation of 'Barabara Streisand' by Duck Sauce, comes 'Arnold', a chill mix of repeated Arnold Schwarzenegger samples. I was hypnotised, enjoyed it, felt a bit ashamed, but got over it. Down, up, down, up Come on, more energy!

Not many of the great 90s electronic acts have made it through in one piece into the new millenium, but Underworld is definitely an exception. Some stuff from their most recent album Barking popped up randomly on my playlist and I was just reminded that I have the CD + DVD set when it first came out late last year buried somewhere in my mess from moving. Need to find it!

One of my favourite tracks that came out of the album was Moon in Water; a lot more mellow than their usual, but it seems every time musicians creep out of their comfort zones, something amazing can occur.

Not an official video, but digging the footage used alongside one of my favourites from BOC. Apparently came from some rare Japanese experimental short film about a woman and a boy playing on a staircase. Totally DEEP.

Plasmo – a 5min clay animation where an adorable alien sacrifices himself to save a planet and declares his undying love for his gf. Epic.

How can so much drama, selflessness, a beautiful soundtrack, poignancy and a silly bit of humour be packed into a 4 minutes and 37 seconds clay animation?

Plasmo, a little alien, risks his life by flying his spacecraft into an oncoming comet to deflect it. In doing so, the core of a certain planet gets filled by a naturalistic/ forest-like utopia. In his last seconds, he sends a photo of himself and Pasty, as a gesture that she was probably the last thing on his mind before he hurls himself and his spaceship into the comet.

To think 4 year olds watch this straight after school and digest it within minutes. Nevertheless, 'epic' still isn't adequate enough a word to describe the density of that episode.

This is the type of movie where you will feel like a bit of a jerk for downloading because it is pretty genius. And you should pay for good things.

I was going to write up some review, talk about some of the ideas, appreciate some of the artists, love the characters, etc.

But it is wrong because this movie provided a canvas for anti-establishment, and writing anything remotely about the movie's ideas would prove its point.

So don't watch it because you should.

This song really flew under the radar. Forget Praise You, Right Here Right Now & Weapon of Choice. Actually, maybe not, but this one is quite the gem by Fat Boy Slim. The video starts off a little bit slowly, so if you're feeling a bit impatient, skip ahead a minute.

I like muttering this song in my sleep.

The Doctor Who Tom Baker Intro

Had a massive nostalgia trip. Even though the 'Tom Baker' years technically occurred outside of my existence, they were the only ones I watched during my upbringing. The intro is so iconic and synonymous with the science fiction genre. Doctor Who > Star Trek. When developing the Tom Baker Doctor character, he was described as a 'cosmic hobo'.

I wonder who really planted the seeds to eventually give birth to the whole rave scene in the UK back in the 80s? Club owners, the drug culture, or quite simply, everyone's fascination with Doctor Who?

Boards of Canada sampled the beginning chorus of the famous 'Oh Mickey' song by Toni Basil and distorted it into their own electro version.
